Mark and his brother, Paul, used AutoFarm RighTrac GPS steering on their Cat Challenger 55 at planting and Mark has been running it on their Deere 9510 combine to harvest wheat.
"We're cutting 1,200 acres of wheat. Some is hilly, some flat and on the flat fields it's a dream," says Mark.
"It definitely helps efficiency. With our 25 foot head set on 24 feet, it keeps the header full and doesn't miss any. Efficiency varies, but it's at least ten percent more efficient, probably more."
"The number one thing is keeping that header full. It'll save us quite a few acres by the time we're done cutting all of this wheat."
"As far as accuracy, it seems to be running where it's supposed to. I know that on flat ground, it's definitely running around 3-inches."
"It really reduces operator fatigue. Without doubt, there's less driver stress and you have more time to focus on the operation of the machine. There's a lot more of me left at the end of the day now than there used to be!"
